Startup Challenge Semifinalist SkillStackers
SkillStackers helps local businesses automate their social media marketing using a combination of our technology platform, analytics tools and a vetted remote workforce. Our solution is a better and cheaper alternative for local businesses who currently either have to do it themselves, hire a full time marketing manager or outsource to an agency.
How did you come up with this idea?
Having grown up in the Philippines, David was interested in helping startups and small businesses outsource common business tasks to a remote workforce in the Philippines. After a semester of testing and working with a few customers, he realized that more than half of our customers were asking for social media marketing related tasks. Around the same time, Kevin joined the team as co-founder and CTO, with deep knowledge of marketing automation having built out marketing automation tools for companies like TicketMaster and The Ticket Fairy. So we got together to focus on helping SMBs automate their social media marketing with a combination of our technology platform, analytics tools and a remote workforce.
How will your venture change the world?
Our venture will change the world by empowering millions of SMBs to share their voice through social media and reach more customers. From local auto dealers to mom and pop shops, we hope to tell the story of these local businesses to thousands of people online. At the same time, we will empower thousands of remote workers from students to stay at home moms, and give them the opportunity to learn digital marketing best practices and work alongside our automation and analytics tools.
